Please read these Terms of Service ("Terms") carefully before using the Parleo application ("App") and website operated by Better the Map LLC ("we," "our," or "us").

Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you disagree with any part of these Terms, you may not access the App.

Description of Service

Parleo is a language learning application that allows users to create, study, and review flashcards using spaced repetition techniques. The App provides cloud synchronization to keep your data consistent across devices.

User Accounts

To use certain features of the App, you must create an account. You are responsible for:

• Maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials
• All activities that occur under your account
• Notifying us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account

You must provide accurate and complete information when creating your account. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that contain false information.

User Content

You retain ownership of any content you create in the App, including flashcards, decks, and notes. By using the App, you grant us a limited license to store, process, and display your content solely for the purpose of providing the service to you.

You agree not to create content that:

• Infringes on intellectual property rights of others
• Contains illegal, harmful, or offensive material
• Violates any applicable laws or regulations

Acceptable Use

You agree to use the App only for lawful purposes. You may not:

• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the App or its systems
• Use the App to distribute malware or harmful code
• Interfere with or disrupt the App's functionality
• Use automated systems to access the App without permission
• Resell or redistribute the App without authorization

Intellectual Property

The App, including its design, features, and content (excluding user-generated content), is owned by Better the Map LLC and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works based on the App without our express written permission.

Disclaimer of Warranties

THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE APP WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR FREE OF HARMFUL COMPONENTS.

We do not guarantee any specific learning outcomes from using the App. Results may vary based on individual effort and usage.

Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, BETTER THE MAP LLC SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR REVENUES, WHETHER INCURRED DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, USE, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES.

IN NO EVENT SHALL OUR TOTAL LIABILITY EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US, IF ANY, FOR USE OF THE APP DURING THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRIOR TO THE CLAIM.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Better the Map LLC and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including attorneys' fees) arising out of your use of the App or violation of these Terms.

Modifications to Service

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the App at any time, with or without notice. We shall not be liable to you or any third party for any modification, suspension, or discontinuation of the App.

Changes to Terms

We may revise these Terms at any time. We will provide notice of material changes by posting the updated Terms on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date. Your continued use of the App after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

Termination

We may terminate or suspend your account and access to the App immediately, without prior notice, for conduct that we believe violates these Terms or is harmful to other users, us, or third parties.

Upon termination, your right to use the App will immediately cease. You may request a copy of your data before termination by contacting us.

Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of [STATE], without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

Dispute Resolution
